This should make them even more popular when they go door-to-door in the community.

by Left in the Cold inhttp://www.fox59.com/news/wxin-college-park-jehovas-witnesses-community-fights-to-keep-jehovahs-witnesses-out-of-neighborhood-20121107,0,5339745.column.
the story is mostly about a neighborhood in indianapolis fighting to keep a kh from being built in their neighborhood, but as is common, the entertainment is in the comments below the article.
i thought i'd share.

No love for Michael Bay :)
Seriously, though. Stanley Kubrick, Alfred Hitchcock, John Huston. In more recent years- Spielberg, Tarantino, Christopher Nolan.

As a Watchtower Reader on Sunday, did you ever have to use the bathroom?
by sd-7 ini just had a dream last night that i was watchtower reader again on a sunday.
it was weird because the color scheme seemed like a zombie-green.
my old coboe was conducting the study and he seemed like kind of a jerk.

I sported a chub one time when i was giving the Sunday talk.
The public talk usually had the opposite effect on me. I was impotent for days after hearing it.

Zabastian, your name is forever associated with an apostate site.
Well, yeah. Now that he's actually taken the time to post, asking to be deleted. Had he not done that, no one would ever have known he was here.

Is the WT the only true religion?
by Christ Alone injehovah's witnesses do not do that!
again: jehovah's witnesses do!
jehovah's witnesses!.

I think the phrase "true religion" is an oxymoron.

Do JWs Still Feel The Need To Understand Their Teachings Or Have They Pretty Much Abandoned That Idea?
by minimus ini think most jws do not know how to explain their religious beliefs.
i don't think they could explain their views of 607 b.c.e.
, 1914, any prophetic bible books, the old vs. the new fds understanding, the blood fraction reasoning, etc.. do you think the average witness is able to explain from the bible why they believe things as they do?.

The short answer is no, they don't feel the need. JWs assume that everyone they encounter in the ministry is less educated about the bible than they are. They don't really expect to have to defend their teachings, except on the most elementary level.

New James Bond Film: Skyfall
by leavingwt ini had an opportunity to see skyfall in the theater yesterday.
it's almost as good as casino royale, with some parts of it being even better.
the opening sequence was a real thrill, one of the best.

Bring on Idris Elba, or someone else with the Connery animal magnetism.
I'm thinking a lighter, less serious Bond. Maybe Simon Pegg, or Ricky Gervais.

Ethos (and all still mentally in): Truth, Tipping Points and Standards
by NeverKnew inif this is "the truth," why has the information provided over the years contained so many errors?
at what point does "error" become "outright lie" for you?
how high (or low) are your standards for your spiritual leaders?

Hopefully he doesn't get banned, like Recovery, and have to start all over.

Definitely on my must see list. I rarely watch movies out in the theater anymore, but plan on watching this one.

Did you feel guilty for not pioneering?
by brokethechain ini started pioneering the month i finished high school, and never stopped until i awakened, 17 years later.
it seems like the entire time, there was so much emphasis on pioneering.
every field service meeting seemed to have a part that communicated the message that jehovah would zap us at the big a. or people would die because of us if we didn't have extenuating circumstances (i always translated as bad health or kids, but even then, there were always "examples" of the mom with 5 kids that was pioneering).

For the longest time, yes. It didn't help that my oldest brother, and both of my sisters, all became regular pioneers straight out of high school. It was naturally assumed that I would follow suit.
